Our German students celebrated Karneval/Fasching on the week ending Friday, February 27th . The festival marks the beginning of Lent and is celebrated with parades, costumes and masks. The largest parades are in the Rheinland area of Germany and the celebrations in the cities of Köln and Mainz are renowned. The official phrase of Karneval is ‘Hellau!’
