Asgard & TY Mentors Trip
Our Asgard students and TY Mentors had a great day out in Athlone on Wednesday, December 17th. They went to see a film in the cinema and finished the day with some Christmas shopping in Golden Island shopping centre.

Debating
Our team of Darragh Hill, Amy Birch, Eoin Connolly & Aoife Mooney defeated Mercy College, Roscommon in their recent debate on “Global Commitments to End World Hunger are a Load of Hot Air”. Mercy Kilbeggan opposed the motion and earned 5 points in a unanimous win, meaning they defeated the opposition by between 11 and 19 marks.…

Christmas Baking Workshop
Christmas is in full swing, evident by the treats created by the attendees in our after school Christmas Baking Workshops! A wide range of delicious goodies were on offer, from Mince Pies to Yule Logs and lots more! Thanks a lot to Ms. Eagney for facilitating.

Committee of Language Ambassadors
We have recently established a committee of Language Ambassadors, who represent the many languages spoken by our school community. They are positive role models for their languages and our plurilingual school community. All of our language ambassadors have completed training, provided by Léargas. Movie Day
On Friday, 12th December, our School of Sanctuary committee organised a movie day in the library. They watched the film ‘La Suprema’, about a teenage girl in Columbia, who dreams of becoming a boxer. A table quiz was held after the movie. Thank you to the School of Sanctuary committee for organising the event.

Write for Rights
On Wednesday, December 10th, some of our students took part in a ‘Write for Rights’ workshop to mark International Human Rights Day. In this workshop, students learned about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Amnesty International.
